The likelihood of immediate reactions to indoor air pollutants depends on several factors including age and preexisting medical conditions. In some cases, whether a person reacts to a pollutant depends on individual sensitivity, which varies tremendously from person to person. We propose for an IAQ test for a client and that helps to ensure and manage the whole project smoothly. Result: 1) PM2.5 levels at all the indoor locations tested were within the SS554:2016 recommended threshold limit of <37.5μg/m³. 2) TVOC levels at all the indoor locations tested were within the SS554:2016 recommended threshold limit of <1000ppb. 3)Formaldehyde levels at all the indoor locations tested were within the SS554:2016 recommended threshold limit of <0.08ppm. Varnishes and glues used and applied on composite furniture release formaldehyde gas (off-gas) into the air. When formaldehyde is present in the air at levels exceeding 0.08ppm, some individuals may experience health effects such as watery eyes, burning sensations of the eyes, nose and throat, coughing, wheezing, nausea, and skin irritation.
